Generally called a quotpre-buildquot meeting this is an oppurtunity for a customer to examine the overall production capabilities and techniques of the manufacturer and to examine or make slight changes to the design of the apparatus prior to the onset of construction.p

Fire Chief Orangers presented Goodwills leadership with a generous donation to be used in the update of nbsptheir SCBA Equipment. pThe Officers and Members are excited to announce that Firefighter Michael Destefano Jr. Has won the Gold Medal in the Firefighting Skills competition held in Hershey Pennsylvania. Michael represents the Central Montgomery County Technical High School and faced off against 10 other Competitors from all over the State of Pennsylvania.ppDuring the Competition there were a series of practical skills test including ladders hose evolutions ropes and knots and a timed SCBA donning event which Michael accomplished in 49 seconds. On February 26th at the Upper Merion Township Board of Superviors Meeting Swedeland along with multiple other Emergency and Public Agencies were recognized with Resolution 2015-10 for Their efforts during the mass casuality vehicle accident that occured on I-76 on January 18th 2015. We thank the Board of Supervisors for Their continued support of Upper Merion Fire snd Rescue Services.
On Monday February 23rd Lafayette Ambulance and Rescue Squad Members were at Station 48 providing the 2nd night of 1st Responder training. Swedeland Volunteers were cycled through various skills stations including CPRAED Patient Packaging Vital Signs and C Spine Immobilization. Thank You 317.
Congratulations to Swedeland Volunteer Michael Destefano Michael won first place in a Firefighter skills competition held at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Campus this past Tuesday February 10th. Michael participates in the Public Safety Training Program at the Central Montgomery County Technical High School. Firefighters from other surrounding Schools with Public Safety Programs compete in various timed skills events including donning SCBA search and rescue ladders and various evolutions with ropes and knots. Michael will now advance to the next level of competition which will be held in Hershey Pennsylvania. Good Luck
Shortly before 100 AM this morning Swedeland Volunteers responded with the RIT Team to Assist Norristown at an Apartment Fire at 611 Swede Street Norristown. Firefighters from Norristown and surrounding communities made multiple aerial rescues from windows minimizing the loss of life during the aggresive fire. A truly epic outstanding job by our fellow Firefighters. The day continued at 900 with the funeral detail for Gene Lonchar at St. Peter and Pauls Ukrainian Church in Bridgeport. Engine 48 and Crew guided Gene to His final resting place at St. Peter and Pauls Cemetary on Church Road.
The Officers and Members of the Swedeland Volunteer Company offer our thoughts and prayers to the Family and Friends of Gene Lonchar who passed away Thursday January 29th 2014. Gene served on the Upper Merion Fire and Rescue Services Board for many years representing the Citizens of Upper Merion. Genes service and dedication as well as His straight talk and charm will surely be missed
