They had to cut into it which would mean that the owners or I guess the renters of it were not present. Was somebody in there using a candle to see? What would start a fire in a closed storage unit... electrical?

Wow!!! Awesome job. Could have been an awful loss.

Wow they did a good job getting it out

Great work by all!

Awesome job. Thank you all. 😍

Please adopt a hydrant during a snow storm. Cleaning a 3ft area around a hydrant makes a difference in saving a property or even a life. Please help us help you!!!

Oshkosh Fire Department
Here's a great video showing you why to clear the snow from your fire hydrant. The video is about 3 minutes long but well worth your time. Notice it takes about 2 extra minutes to clear the snow from the hydrant. FYI house fires double in size every minute. Also make sure to clear about 3 feet around the hydrant to give the firefighter room to work as well as a path to the street.
Special thanks to Equipment Operator Mike Stevens, Firefighter/Paramedic Ryan Homman, and Intern Marcus Moxon-Winston--Marcus did most of the heavy lifting.

Please do not use your oven for storage. In the past few weeks Station 48 has been called out to two oven fires in Upper Merion involving objects stored in the oven. In these two cases a bag of cheetos and a cutting board were inadvertently incinerated when the oven was pre-heated without knowledge that objects were inside. It is also a good idea to inspect your oven prior to turning it on. Stay safe. ... See MoreSee Less

I’m guilty of this! It’s too keep stuff away from my dog

If the stuff gets on fire, turn off your oven but don’t open oven doors. Keep it contained. It should die out without oxygen. Always do call 911.

My Mom left a frying pan with Crisco in it, in the oven. Preheated the oven and ran to the story. I (on the 3rd floor sleeping)smelled smoke. Ran down to see flames shooting from the oven and top of stove. Thank God Mary Lutz was in her yard. She knew what to do before the fire Dept. arrived. 💖
